APLN Houston Agile Practitioners Panel Discussion

APLN Houston presents a panel of local agile practitioners who will discuss the issues of today.

Panelists:

Jennifer Brownson is a Certified Scrum Master and Lead Business Analyst in Houston, who has assisted in the conversion of major corporations to agile, including Waste Management and BP. Her focus is on teaching business owners and business analysts Scrum, working with functions such as QA and technical writing in an agile environment, and working with/mentoring other Scrum Masters as to how to fit within a traditional project structure. She is a consultant with the Jupiter Group in Houston.

Victor Certuche is a Senior Project Manager with Accelrys, a scientific consulting firm based in San Diego, where he has been instrumental in moving the organization from small and medium projects to multi-million dollar engagements involving distributed teams and highly complex systems. As Senior Consultant for Valtech, Victor participated in one of the largest contracts Valtech has ever been involved, by utilizing his skills in formal processes and tailoring them for Agile environments.

John Fuqua Technology Evangelist for OpenSpirit Corporation, has over 14 years of experience in architecting and developing commercial software. He has also served as a consultant for several software projects in the oil and gas software and services industry. John has hands on experience in 6 different software languages on windows and Unix-based platforms. Back in 2000, John founded the Houston and Austin Rational User Groups to help promote the usage of agile software processes and tools. Over the years, John has served the oil and gas industry in multiple capacities including software architect, technical evangelist, and several advisory roles. Prior to joining OpenSpirit Corporation, John served as the President of Kangarooware, a company he founded, and CTO of Go Figure, Inc., a leader in membership management software.
