Traci DuezAre your Values and your Valuing Habits misaligned? What is the impact of that on you, your teams, and your organization? Green or Gold? Which team "stuck it to" the other? Thanks to Traci Duez for a very engaging and enlightening tour showing us how our valuing habits must correspond to the value we are trying to create. You can learn more about Traci at www.pmbrilliance.com.

Happy 2nd AnniversaryThanks to both Apex Systems and Triad Resources for making our 2nd anniversary celebration special. Apex sponsored food from Hungrys and a terrific birthday cookie, and Triad provided a great door prize. Congrats to Tim McDearmon who won the raffle for a 4gb iPod Shuffle.

APLN Houston is proud to share our second anniversary celebration event with PMI Houston's Westside meeting.  PMI Houston was our first sponsor when APLN Houston started meeting two years ago by providing a meeting venue until we moved to Sysco in 2009.

APLN Houston members please note that this meeting has been extended beyond our normal time and will end at 8:00pm

The Impact of your Valuing Habits on Delivering Project Value

Agile project management is highly focused on value.  Agile projects are value-driven whereas traditional projects are plan-driven. Agile also requires that its participants are value-driven as well. The valuing habits of the team MUST be aligned with what adds the most value in the world. Axiology has shown us that is not always true. There is a mathematical hierarchy of value that is as immutable as the law of gravity. Understanding this and implementing it in your projects (and your life) will ensure that you ADD VALUE.

In this presentation you will discover:

  • The mathematical hierarchy of value.
  • That your valuing habits are NOT always aligned with your values.
  • A new way of looking at the thinking and valuing that affects you, your team and your stakeholders.
  • A group exercise to show how your ‘need to be right’ may be impacting your ability to add value.
  • The value of Axiology to Agile Projects.

Traci DuezTraci Duez earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. She then entered the master's program in athletic coaching at The Ohio State University. She has coached basketball at the high school and collegiate levels.  She was also a project manager for 17 years and directed over 100 consultants for an IT consulting firm.

Today Traci applies her background in science and coaching to help Project Managers and executives measurably improve their thinking and leaderships skills using the breakthrough science of neuro-axiology. You'll learn more about her and neuro-axiology during this presentation as well as how to immediately apply your new knowledge to your career and your life.
