Agile Leadership Network of Houston - Mid year review for 2011 Print E-mail

Agile Leadership Network of Houston leadership team met on June 18th, Saturday afternoon at a local Library to discuss our progress so far this year on the items we set forth for the chapter at the beginning of the year and adjustments we need to make or additional areas to focus on for the rest of the year.  Thanks to Robbie Mac Iver, Ron Whitebread, Shravan Arra, Jaynee Lafferty, Allan Watty, we had a great meeting.  Many special thanks also go to our special guests Prashant Patel and Michael Dougherty who have been volunteers for a while to join these discussions sacrificing 4 hours of their precious Saturday afternoon.

The meeting started with a discussion of how we did in the last 6 months in the areas we identified at the beginning of the year.  We recognized that we continued to grow our membership and our attendance also has been steady and rising.  In addition, we have been able to attract several sponsors.

Leadership MeetingThe focus soon shifted to the areas we needed to improve most upon.  As the team went through these areas and found suggestions that were important and prioritized these.  In addition, for each of the areas, a leader was assigned possibly with a backup.  The team decided that we need to increase focus in the areas of Volunteer involvement, Communication to membership and Special Events for the rest of the year.  The team decided to move forward to conduct our first 1 day Agile Conference in the last quarter of this year.

The team also tossed around the idea of a social event in December instead of the regular meeting.  We will consider this as the time nears.

The meeting then proceeded to discuss various other topics that were part of the agenda such as Volunteer Appreciation Event and Anniversary Event in September.

Agile Leadership Network Houston remains an all volunteer organization and as such our continued growth depends on our volunteers.  We are grateful to those of you who have chosen to get involved and help. In 2011, we are committed to offering more varied and rewarding volunteer experiences such as a 1 day Agile Conference and a volunteer appreciation dinner for all those who helped us.  We invite all those who want to get involved with this success to join us in taking the chapter forward. We are excited about the chapter progress so far this year and with your help and continued support we look forward to an active and vibrant 2011 for Agile Leadership Network of Houston.
